Repeat prescriptions online

You can now order your repeat prescriptions online and save yourself a trip to the surgery. To use the service, you will first need to contact us at reception to obtain a username and password. Once you have these, click on the link above to log in to this website and place your order.

A new way to get your medications and appliances

The Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS) is an NHS service. If you order your repeat prescriptions from your G.P. via this service, you will not have to visit the surgery to pick up a paper prescription. Instead your G.P. will send it electronically to the pharmacy of your choice, saving you time.

If you have already nominated a pharmacy of choice, the practice will automatically set up your repeat prescriptions for the Electronic Prescribing Service.

Please note that some drugs are excluded from the Electronic Prescribing Service. Nationally, some pharmacies are not able to provide an Electronic Prescribing Service, although the numbers are increasing.

Discontinued Medications

In accordance with NHS guidelines we no longer instigate prescribing of the following drugs: Diconal, Dihydrocodeine, Gamolenic Acid, Glucosamine, Tramadol Modified Release. Any patient taking these drugs will be asked to see a GP for a review.

Help us to reduce the cost of prescriptions

In the year prior to June 2017, the NHS spent approximately £569 million on prescriptions for medicines for minor conditions, which could otherwise be purchased over the counter (OTC) from a pharmacy and/or other outlets such as petrol stations or supermarkets MORE>>

Prescription orders by telephone

Please make requests after 10.00 am, Monday to Fridays. Tel: Amble Health Centre on 01665 710 481 or Broomhill Health Centre on 01670 760 229

Please have the names of the medication required with you when requesting repeat prescriptions and try to order a number of items each month rather than one each week. This avoids errors and saves time. TO AVOID WASTING MEDICINES, PLEASE ONLY ORDER THE ONES YOU NEED.

Repeat Prescribing Patient Information

Patients should order their repeat medications when they have a minimum of 5 days supply of medications left. Patients can order medications via:

  • Online Access via SystmOne Online or by the NHS App (if you wish to sign up for either of these services please speak to one of our Receptionists)
  • Telephone - Amble Health Centre 01665 710481 / Broomhill Health Centre 01670 760229

When patients order repeat medications they should allow up to 72 hours from contacting the surgery to their prescriptions being ready to collect at their nominated pharmacy.

This time frame is in place to ensure that any queried medication requests are processed by the Practice and that our Pharmacy Colleagues have time to order any medications they may not have in stock. Most repeat medication requests will be ready within 48 hours.
